KIMA story earns 1st place in award from Society of ... - KIMA News

SEATTLE, Wash. -- A story about a potential puppy mill in Selah has earned KIMA Action News Reporter Matt Finn a 1st place award.? The honor is for the Investigative category for the awards given the the Society of Professional Journalists, Region 10.

At a gala in Seattle, the story by Mr. Finn was part of the Television Categories, for small market news.? The original story can be found here.? It was part of KIMA's coverage of a property facing code violations by Yakima County.? Finn's investigative skills showed something potentially criminal was at work on the property as well.

Former KIMA?Action News Reporter Heather Walker received a second place award in the same category for her story on a former Yakima Police Officer who was investigated for inappropriate behavior on the job.? That officer has left the force and the story can be found here.
