Music icon, Oliver Mutukudzi has described the late Andy Brown as a larger than life character, whose contribution to the local arts sector will be cherished forever.
Tuku made these remarks at a church service for the late ?Muzukuru? held at a Harare funeral parlor this Tuesday evening.
?Andy Brown was a fearless and frank person, who helped many musicians to ascend the musical ladder,? said Mutukudzi.
The funeral service was attended by artists and Andy Brown?s close relatives, including his former wife, Chiwoniso Maraire and other artists such as Lawrence Haisa and Mechanic Manyeruke, among others.
The facilitators for Brown?s funeral said they have taken it upon themselves to give him a befitting send off, adding that the body will be ferried rural home in Mberengwa on Wednesday morning, where he will be buried on Thursday.
Andy Brown died on Friday last week and is survived by 10 Children.?
Mourners are currently gathered at number 10 Gibbons Avenue in Cranborne.
Meanwhile, a family spokesperson from the late veteran musician, Andy Brown, Douglas Ncube has dismissed rumours that the Brown family is failing to meet burial costs for the late music icon.
Ncube urged music fans not to follow falsehoods on the internet but to communicate with the Brown family if they need any information about the musiacian's burial arrangements.
Ncube, who spoke to the media at the late veteran musician?s home in Cranborne, said music fans across the country and abroad must receive formal communication from the Brown family on any arrangements of his burial.
He said any communication that needs to be done with the Brown family must be addressed to Tsungi Zvobgo, Chiwoniso Maraire?s Manager, who worked with both artists.
But, a source queried that account because a message was circulated on Facebook by Barbra Nyagomo with Tsungai Zvobgo's mobile phone number asking for funeral assistance from well-wishers and the message said Brown's body was stuck at Parirenyatwa mortuary.?
Meanwhile, Tanga wekwaSando and Tsungi Zvobgo, who worked closely with Andy Brown, say the music industry has lost a great artist who had great passion for his work.?
